Outing To Wildcat Mountain

1/5/2015

We had a lovely time up around Wildcat mountain exploring and searching for a wetland area.

The first part of the day we adventured around the woods and found some great rock formations, harvested some mushrooms, and enjoyed some beautiful creeks and the nature all around us.

After much exploring and consulting of the maps we made it to our desired wetlands destination. The wetlands area was quite spectacular. We found chews on trees as well as some dammed up areas which are indicative of the presence of Beavers. Several Rough-skinned Newts were spotted cruising around in the water as we trekked around and through the wetlands. This will be a nice place to visit again in the spring to see what the changes of the seasons brings to the area.

The fun and adventure did cease after we left the woods. A flat tire occurred on our way out and here we all are banding together to fix it.

We all had a great day up on Wildcat Mountain and we hope that everyone's tracking trips are going excellently thus far in this 2014-2015 tracking season. Check back here to see pictures and read stories about some of the trips this year. Happy Tracking!
